Starbucks Closing
Wednesday 07-02-2008 11:59am CT
Well, if you have to make the stop in the morning to get our day started with a latte, or carmel machiotto lowfat with extra something...you might want to see if your Starbucks is going to close soon!
The company said late Tuesday that it will close 600 company-run U.S. stores over the next year. The stores were not profitable, and most were located near another Starbucks. Most were opened in fiscal 2006 later. Starbucks also plans to open fewer stores in fiscal 2009.
The problem is one that most chains have run into, over saturation.

Get it while it's hot...cause it may not be there tomorrow..

New Laws!!!!!!!
Tuesday 07-01-2008 11:06am CT
Every year on this date, 07.01__new laws go into effect, but how many of us realize this? I learned two years ago on July 1st, that if you ride a  motorcycle that if you are at a stop light, and the light does not change, but cycles through at least 2 times then you can proceed through the light, provided that there is no on coming traffic! And trust me as most of you know if you are sitting there in full gear at a stop light in the middle of the summer and the light doesn't change, you are burning up waiting to take off to get a breeze going...
Some of the new laws going into effect today are
1.COMPETITIVE CABLE. Creating statewide permits for cable TV providers. SB1933/HB1421.

2.MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. Legalizing and regulating mixed martial arts competitions in Tennessee. SB3836/HB2633

3. BIBLE CURRICULUM. Allowing the state Department of Education to develop a curriculum for the academic study of the Bible. SB4104/HB4089.

4. DUI OFFENDERS. Restoring mandatory 48-hour jail time for DUI. SB0582/HB0043.

5. FLOOD WARNINGS. Charging drivers who ignore flood warning signs with reckless driving. SB3143/HB2529.

6. TATTOOS-PIERCINGS. Requiring parents or guardians of minor to provide proof of guardianships or custody when permitting tattooing or piercing.

If you don't agree with some of these laws well, I guess next time you will contact your state representitve and let them know you don't agree!
Also, you know, refering to #5 on the list, it's a shame that we have to enact laws to protect ourselves from our own stupidity!!!

Let me know what you think about the new laws.   Post your comments

Waterfalls in New York City
Friday 06-27-2008 12:25pm CT
I saw this the other day on Good Morning America ( I can't get my day started without it.) and I thought, this is so cool. Now, I've never been to New York City, but do want to go someday soon. I know and have met so  many cool people from NYC and I know it's the city that never sleeps and there is so much to do and see there, but this has to be one of the coolest things that they have done there.
The New York City Waterfalls was the brainchild of Danish/Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, is billed as the city's largest public art installation since Christo and Jeanne-Claude's The Gates unfurled across Central Park three years ago. Created by pumping river water over scaffolds, the cascades made their debut Thursday and will flow daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (from 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays) through Oct. 13.
I got to see this.....one day......
It'd be really cool if they did this here in Nashville under the Gateway bridge and The Shelby Street Pedestrian bridge.

Another Cover!!! This time it's Brian Johnson!
Thursday 06-26-2008 2:45pm CT
Ok, so I've gotten some good feedback on the crappy cover that Celine Dieon did of AC/DC, but then Kim from East Nashville sent me this...It's Brian Johnson (drunk I think) with a band doing a cover of Toto's "Hold The Line." And WHAT THE HELL IS HE SAYING BEFORE THEY START! It reminds me of comedian Jim Brewer doing his AC/DC impression which is pretty dead on!
Anyway, enjoy, I guess, Brian Johnson covering Toto. I hope they don't do this when they go on tour in support of their new album coming out this fall.
Posty your comments and let me know what you think.

And now if you want to see something really funny, here is Jim doing the "Hokey Pokey" with Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams of AC/DC!
I guess Brain is a great sport!!! LOL!!!!
