What's up Joe Elvis,
I remember seeing Led Zeppelin in concert in August of 1977 at the Oakland Raiders stadium. I was on vacation and hooked up with some older california crazies and we were drinking southern comfort. Man those were the days! Also appearing was Judas Priest and Rick Derringer.

Pitiful
Yes, so many great shows and memories at Starwood. I think I have seen Aerosmith every time that they played Starwood since 1989. There is just nothing like an outside show in the summer. However, money grubbing idiots feel that this building project is just what that area needs...more strip malls and condos. UGH! This is music city...right? Wonder if there are talks about a new amphitheater?

Eagles last visit to Nashville
What's up J Elvis,
I'm not sure when the last time the Eagles visited Nashville was, but I remember seeing them with Andrew Gold on June 23rd 1977 for the Hotel california tour at the Municipal Auditorium. Tickets were $9.50 I still have the concert clip from the Tennessean and a lot more from several bands such as Heart, KISS, Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Kansas, Black Sabbath, REO, Robin Trower, Jethro Tull, Aerosmith, ELP, YES, Eric Clapton, Nazareth, Steve Miller, Billy Joel,Boston, Foghat, Crosby,Stills, & Nash. These old newspaper clipping remind me of when I had hair. LOL
Take care!

Well, actually...
Elton did write the music to Philadelphia Freedom for his friend Bille Jean King, named for the Tennis team on which she became famous, however, Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics, as his did for most of Elton's songs. Bernie was not particularly fond of Philadelphia Freedom, and has said that the song has no real meaning to him. He said of the song that he's not even sure what it's about.

Cute Story
hey i was listening to you a month or so ago and you were doing the threefer and it was the cars. it made me think about my daughter when she was about 3 years old. she was born in 1980 so 1983 was when mtv was mtv and it stayed on my tv 24/7. one day the cable guy was at the house for some reason and he looked at my child and said "she watches mtv?" i said yeah. he seemed like he didnt really believe me so he looked at her and asked her who's that on tv. the cars video "magic" was on and she looked up at him and said RICK Ocasey (she was just three) and it blew his mind. he said i guess she does watch it. but anyhow, that was back when music was music and i'm glad i lived it. it's part of who i am. the music thats out there today isnt the same. love your station. been listening since you started.

Memorial Day
ANOTHER MEMORIAL DAY
Taps play mournfully o’er the grave Loved ones bow their heads and weep The Flag folded, casket lowered down And the Hero, laid to endless sleep.
This scene played out too many times With all the sadness and the pain As War torn hearts ache with the loss It happens, time and time again.
All people should attend a Service To see the Honor Guard in dress attire To hear the bugler play that sad tune And to be startled, when the rifles fire.
A small tribute to those who gave all The true Patriots of our great Land To face the horrors of the battlefield Where sometimes, Freedom makes its stand.
War seems to be the only way, we humans Know, to change what we don’t like It seems; peaceful times are short lived Before there’s another military strike.
The military/industrial complex wins No matter, if war is won or lost And the New World Order thirst for power Uncaring, what their selfish goals may cost.
Maybe one day, we can live together And learn to respect those different ways Before we destroy ourselves and Earth And end the terrible price the Soldier pays.
But until that day finally comes, if ever And our Brave, no longer have to die We must Honor their ultimate sacrifice Even as we wait and ponder, "Why?"
And instead of just a day off work To enjoy the pleasures of our Country Just remember what this day is for To Honor those who gave all, for you and me.

Great song.

Make sure the air pressure in your tires is correct, and slow down on the interstates. If everyone did it it'd have a big impact.
He obviously has too much time and money. Balloons usually find trees the way tornadoes find trailer parks. Play flying high again by
OzzyNashville's public courses are in great shape and cheaper. Ted Rhodes, Shelby and Percy Warner are my favorites.
Play Rossington Collins - Don't Misunderstand Me.
That guy is wild! Wonder when he will pull back a NUB?
Now I have to get the damn book! He went to school with little Tommy Petty!!! I can't imagine being in Gainesville back then. That's pretty cool!
I heard "I'm in you" the other day by Peter Frampton. Blast from the classic rock past. If you can get it into the rotation I would be most appreciative.

i was listening to you a month or so ago and you were doing the threefer and it was the cars. it made me think about my daughter when she was about 3 years old. she was born in 1980 so 1983 was when mtv was mtv and it stayed on my tv 24/7. one day the cable guy was at the house for some reason and he looked at my child and said "she watches mtv?" i said yeah. he seemed like he didnt really believe me so he looked at her and asked her who's that on tv. the cars video "magic" was on and she looked up at him and said RICK Ocasey (she was just three) and it blew his mind. he said i guess she does watch it. but anyhow, that was back when music was music and i'm glad i lived it. it's part of who i am. the music thats out there today isnt the same. love your station. been listening since you started.
Awesome!!!! Happy Friday Joe Elvis!
.Taps play mournfully o’er the grave
Loved ones bow their heads and weep
The Flag folded, casket lowered down
And the Hero, laid to endless sleep.
This scene played out too many times
With all the sadness and the pain
As War torn hearts ache with the loss
It happens, time and time again.
All people should attend a Service
To see the Honor Guard in dress attire
To hear the bugler play that sad tune
And to be startled, when the rifles fire.
A small tribute to those who gave all
The true Patriots of our great Land
To face the horrors of the battlefield
Where sometimes, Freedom makes its stand.
War seems to be the only way, we humans
Know, to change what we don’t like
It seems; peaceful times are short lived
Before there’s another military strike.
The military/industrial complex wins
No matter, if war is won or lost
And the New World Order thirst for power
Uncaring, what their selfish goals may cost.
Maybe one day, we can live together
And learn to respect those different ways
Before we destroy ourselves and Earth
And end the terrible price the Soldier pays.
But until that day finally comes, if ever
And our Brave, no longer have to die
We must Honor their ultimate sacrifice
Even as we wait and ponder, "Why?"
And instead of just a day off work
To enjoy the pleasures of our Country
Just remember what this day is for
To Honor those who gave all, for you and me.
